Respect

Respect. Something that everyone wants. Most people want it so much that they demand it. However respect does not work that way. It isnt a one way street. Both people need to put forth equal amounts of respect to be at a balance.


There are people however who do give the respect and recieve it as well. These are the people who others will tend to look up to. These people are the ones who are successful in life.


For me, getting respect from me, it is not easy. You can not just demand respect from me. It will not work. The only people who get my respect that dont in any way deserve it are my parents and that is only because I can not walk away.


To get the respect from me you have to do two things. One: Is you need to also give respect. Respect me and you will recieve respect. If I dont respect someone then they have no need to give it to me. If they do, then, I essencially give them respect. If I dont. Then well...Im screwed. All my logic is mixed up and confusing and everything is off-balace. But I do give respect to those who give it to me. Two: Is you need to deserve the respect. Even if you give it, there will be times where you dont deserve it. You may give all respect to those above you, beneith you, or at your level. But in certain situations, you dont always deserve it. You could give the highest respect to someone but you end up doing something wrong. You screw up. Even if you're stll giving that respect to the other person. You've lost the respect that they were giving you. Then you must earn it back again.


Respect also goes hand in hand with trust. You also need to be trustworthy if you are respected.


If you were to give me the respect. If you were to give me the trust. I will return it. But to those who dont. You can not demand it and recieve it. It just simply doesnt work that way with me.
